Advanced Placement Program

What is AP?
  • The Advanced Placement Program (AP) is a collaborative effort between motivated students, dedicated teachers, and committed high schools, colleges, and universities. Since its inception, the Program has allowed millions of students to take college-level courses and exams, and to earn college credit or placement while still in high school.
AP Exams
  • Each AP course has a corresponding exam that participating schools administer in May.
  • Most colleges and universities in the U.S. have an AP policy granting incoming students credit, placement, or both on the basis of their AP Exam grades.
  • Students seeking credit through their AP grades should note that individual colleges and universities, not the College Board or the AP Program, grant course credit and placement. Students should obtain a college's AP policy in writing. Students can find this information by searching the institution's catalogue or Web site, or by using the "College Search" feature on collegeboard.com. AP Program Guide 2003-04
Exam Fee
  • Students are charged a fee for each exam. Please check with the counseling office for the fee schedule.
Additional Information
  • Please visit with your counselor for answers to any questions and to see what AP courses are offered.
